This month's top testimonial

Tom East, Senior Laws Officer at the Cairns City Council sent us the following unsolicited testimonial. He was previously an RSPCA Inspector and he uses an Innotek containment system on his cattle dog. We do receive many similar testimonials but Tom’s stands out due to his position as a professional in his industry.

Subject: Electronic training/anti barking/containment systems

I work in the animal industry, mostly dogs and cats.  I was an RSPCA Cruelty inspector when I heard of Innotek.  I had many enquiries regarding dogs barking that was driving the owners and neighbours nuts.  I remember I contacted Innotek and you actually gave me a bark collar which I loaned out to people, many of whom eventually purchased a collar from you after experiencing peace at last.  I know many were at their wits end and were considering euthanasia of the animal

I also purchased a containment system for my Speckled Red Cattle dog, Patch, who is very energetic and too smart.  He worked out electric fences very quickly and how to defeat them.  I live in a Rain forest Block, so a fence is out of the question.  It also ensures that native animals can come and go unmolested.  When I purchased the containment system, I actually placed the collar on my wrist and walked thru the containment area to judge for myself what my dog was going through when wearing it.

It certainly gives you a belt, but there was no burning or marking of the wrist skin,  it is instant, gives prior warning, and is over very quickly and I believe that it is very humane.  Otherwise it wouldn't be on Patch.  I know I didn't want to walk thru the boundary area again.  When Patch gets the warning tone, he growls and looks at the flags, but wont take it on and that was after only two hits.  He associates the collar being placed on him with not being able to walk out the open driveway.  When I take the collar off him, we go anywhere together and he isn't too traumatised to go thru the driveway.

Now on the days that I can't take Patch to work, I have confidence that he will be at home when I get there.  I have enclosed 5 acres for him.

I now am the Senior Local Laws Officer in charge of the pound and animal control officers for the Cairns City Council.  I know what it is like to have hundreds of otherwise good dogs come into the pound because they got out with no I.D.on them.  Some never get home and meet a very undesirable end simply because their human was too disinterested in them to keep them at home.

I tell everyone who comes to the pound to reclaim their animal about your systems so that hopefully I can reduce the numbers of dogs seized.

A couple of impoundings or a hit by a car very soon adds up to much more that the cost of the containment system, but the system lasts.

Thanks for your products!

Regards
Tom East
